I think that these personalized cutting boards would be such a lovely gift.
A lovely, lovely gift.
A great gift for Moms, Dads, Grandmas, Aunts, Foodies, Party Hosts, Co-Workers, the Neighbors. etc.
And, you know what?
I think this would be a fabo gift created by a teen.
A teen boy.
Because I think a craft for a teen boy is pretty dang hard to come up with.
And, I think they would really enjoy, burning wood, and making designs.
Lemme show you how.
You’ll need a cutting board, a wood burning tool, a printed image, and a pencil.
I bought these cutting boards for $5 a Big Lots. They are bamboo, which just takes a little bit longer to burn, so patience is needed.
First, I looked on Google and found a line drawing that I really liked.
I wanted this board to be wine and cheese themed.
I sized it in Word and printed it out.
Cut off the excess around the image.
Fake a transfer on the back.
Just use a pencil and color over the image on the back.
Trace over the lines on the front of the drawing.
Of course, if you have more time and patience, you could create your own original art work.
Voila! The transfer is done. Now heat up your wood burning tool.
Use the point of the tool to trace out your image, then use the side to slightly shade the image.
I used a longer-touch point of the tip of the tool to get darker lines and edges.
You may need to change the tips of the tool to find out what works good for you. You’ll need a plate or something heat resistant and a pair of pliers.
Warning, this is super hot, and you’ll need to be super careful!
I also did a monogram surrounded by a circle of two tulips.
It’s a super-personal way to gift.
They sure are lovely!
How great for a party to use for a cheese board?
I love this gift idea for Christmas!
Enjoy!
